2000 Chardonnay, Sonoma County, Barrel Fermented, Private Reserve.
The effects of barrel fermentation are evident in the spicy hazelnut aromas of this wine. Fruit flavors of apricot, cantaloupe, apples and cream finish on a note of grapefruit. The round and creamy texture tells of malolactic fermentation. Gold Medal winner.
2000 Chardonnay, Alexander Valley, Simoneau Ranch, Private Reserve.
Grown in a ten acre family owned vineyard in the Alexander Valley, this wine offers complex flavors of cream, Meyer lemon and brown spice. Planted to four different Chardonnay clonal selections, it's a great example of how modern viticulture can affect wine quality. Silver Medal winner.
2001 Chardonnay, Alexander Valley, Murphy Ranch, Private Reserve.
A glowing, Golden Chardonnay. Complex and intriguing, with notes of figs and ripe peaches. Round mouthfeel, with a good acid bounce and a touch of bright apricot in the finish. Serve wth something rich and cheesy, like fettucine alfredo. Newly released.
2000 Chardonnay, North Coast.
Soft pale straw color. Aromas of pineapple, banana and tropical fruit, with lush overtones of melon and vanilla. This is very much a fruit-driven wine, offering delightful flavors of baked apple spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. Finishes with a flourish of lemon and lime. Silver Medal winner.
2001 Semillon, Mendocino County, Private Reserve.
A California Semillon from our Aussie winemaker...this is Toni's personal pick for an end of summer white. "I really worked to get the varietally distinctive Semillon character into this wine," says Toni. Nutty aromas of almonds and toast lead to flavors of apricots, honey and peaches with a smoky cinnamon-spice finish. Newly released and delicious.
2000 Rosé du Soleil, California, Private Reserve.
Aromas of strawberries and lime introduce this semi-dry rose. Reminiscent of the Bandol wines of
Provence, this delightful wine is sure to please. Gold Medal winner and Best of Class.
2001 Fumé Blanc, Mendocino County, Vintner's Reserve
A bracing, lively, refreshing and very dry white wine. Aromas are grassy,
yeasty and herbaceous, comparable to a classic French Sancerre. Plenty of
lemon and grapefruit fragrance, with a nice hint of cilantro, like a summer
day spent strolling through citrus groves and herb gardens. The flavors in
the mouth are consistent with the nose, full of citrus, meadow grass and
herbs. Mouthfeel is satiny smooth, but light. This wine shows a great acid
backbone, and there's a wonderful grapefruit and lemon zest kick to the
finish. Silver Medal winner.
2000 Fumé Blanc, North Coast.
Made in the classic Fume Blanc style, this wine is grassy and crisp, with soft citrus fruit flavors
and tropical fruit overtones. 16% of the blend was barrel fermented and completed malolactic
fermentation for added creaminess and structure. Gold Medal winner.
